Release!

Sometimes I like to sit and ponder.
Recently I was discussing the concept of fantasies with a regular visitor to my chat room. In my experience, there are two types of fantasies. The first are acts you genuinely find arousing -- if the opportunity arose to experience these, you would jump at them in a heart beat. There'd be no hesitation -- no concern -- just pure, unadulterated pleasure. The second type of fantasy is one which is more cerebral in nature. These are fantasies which do rock your socks, but by the same token if you ever take them to the point of acting them out, you'd discover them not to be as pleasurable as the imagining.

What's interesting to me with the second flavor is why fantasize regarding something you never truly want to experience? I know I have some of these fantasies in my own life -- and I wanted to understand them a little better. The conclusion I've come to... these fantasies are really about emotional catharsis.

Does this inspire any fantasies?
For those of you unfamiliar, catharsis is a Greek word which means to cleanse or purge. It entered the literary and dramaturgical lexicon in Aristotle's classic work Poetics -- where he examines how a story allows the reader (or viewer in the case of theatre or film) to use the dramatic events unfolding before them to release the audience's own pent up emotions.

Transsexual pornography is among the most popular genres of porn, yet only a small portion of the general population is into transsexuals. From what I can tell a portion of men who do fantasize about us fall into the realm of the second flavor of fantasy. It's very clear from where I sit that there's a cathartic release occurring for them.

The stereotype is that straight guys who like t-girls are in some way "gay or bisexual" in denial. And while sometimes that is in fact the emotional need the man is exploring through indirect means, it is hardly the only need I've observed people fulfilling through exploring transsexual fantasies. For some folks I chat with, it's a need to break from how ordinary their life feels to them -- for these people sex with a transsexual is an exotic experience which is far from typical. For other folks, they crave the moments of loss of control from an otherwise controlled life -- the cock is a strong icon related to power - seeing one juxtaposed against the soft feminine curves of a girl like me definitely evokes power play. And for others it could be a reason, I haven't even touched on here.

While I enjoy exploring these cathartic types of fantasies with people, I'll admit my favorite experiences tend to be with those where transsexuals are the first type of fantasy. In those cases, their interest is a true expression of desire -- it allows us to connect deeper and truly explore the interplay between us and our personalities.

  1. Wendy, I think your post is right on as far as it goes. I think you would find, like me, a large majority of men who would be interested in a woman like you, IF you would do more than play with it. A man who is very interested in the first flavor and looking for a woman like you to maybe even marry, limits himself to only a second flavor understanding from the outset a woman like you who shall we say is only second flavor herself, is not willing to make the step that makes her a full time woman, a woman of the first flavor, thus drawing out the commitment to first flavor in the male she has so easily attracted. ~Don~
